A New Announcement (And Some New Reviews)

This month, I will be writing about a new Final Fantasy game I purchased this month.

Only not the one you’re probably thinking of…

That’s right, it’s Final Fantasy XIV. Thanks to a new contact with an MMO-focused website, I have been given a free subscription for Square’s troubled MMORPG, and will be writing weekly articles to chronicle and comment on the game’s status as Yoshi-P continues to chisel this black mark on the FF franchise in the hopes it will turn into gold.

I was also offered free subscriptions for World of Warcraft (of which I have an existing character) and The Old Republic (which I haven’t tried yet), but I chose to start off with FFXIV. As much hatred as this poorly-planned game has received (and rightfully so), there’s a part of me that also wants to see if the game’s new director can really work a miracle with his patches and promises, as the game will receive constant tinkering and improving until it’s wiped off the face of the earth to make way for the big 2.0 do-over.

It should make for a unique experience…hopefully it will also make for a fun one.

Meanwhile, I have some new reviews for you to read through, including our first big disappointment of 2012, Amy.
